Word Made Flesh Arts presents art work from a Christian perspective, thus the title about the Incarnation of Jesus Christ, when the Word of God was made flesh in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This extraordinary moment in history that is celebrated at Christmas time, brought about the salvation of the world. Another aspect to “Word Made” is that God created the world with His Word, and we also create with our words. People bring into existence creative realities by the words we speak, so “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt,” (Col 4:6).
Word Made Flesh Arts also contains paintings of life around the world that do not contain Christian themes, but that reflect the beauty of God’s creation.
About the Artist
Trina Marie Ulrich has been a Roman Catholic Religious for 31 years. She has studied Theology, the Christian and Hebrew texts in the Bible, and studio arts. Her time in Israel, Rome, and Ireland have shaped her lens of art and manuscript. She has throughout her time as an artist created with oil paint, water color paint, pastel drawings, pencil drawings, and charcoal. She has one wood carving of a bear and a collection of scrimshaw etchings on her dad, Jim Ulrich’s knife handles. She wants to convey through art and writing the power of God’s love that comes to the world in each human life that allows God to live in that one.
